Square Dances Entertain, Nourish

Recently I treated a friend to a movie. We saw “How to Train Your Dragon,” a delightful animated flick suitable for the entire family. The movie lasted under two hours. Cost for the movie? Nineteen dollars. And that included no popcorn and Coke.

Compare that with the cost of attending a square dance. The typical club square dance charges $5 a head. My friend and I could have gone to a square dance, enjoyed two-and-a-half to three hours of dancing and visiting plus–in most cases–a potluck afterward. For $10 we would have had entertainment and a meal.

Square dances are a bargain.
