Rockwood Grange Basement to Receive New Look

The Rockwood Grange basement will sport a new coat of paint following the painting marathon taking place this Friday and Saturday. Jack Brosseau of the Country Capers and his wife, Bonnie, developed a stylish color scheme of creams and blues that will harmonize with the blue carpet.

Two square dance clubs rent the Rockwood Grange: the Checkerboard Squares and the Country Capers. A number of the dancers from both clubs belong to the Rockwood Grange. This membership builds a strong bond between dancers and the building. The dancers feel an increased sense of ownership because they are more than just renters. The Rockwood Grange is theirs, in a sense.

The new decor is another reason to attend the Checkerboard Squares’ 50th anniversary dance this Saturday, Nov. 13. Come and see the new colors, enjoy the artistry of the painters, and catch a whiff of that invigorating fresh paint smell. No, actually, we hope that’s one part of the upgrade that will be gone by the time guests arrive.

  1. Hey, that’s a pretty good blog. I hope everyone shows up and spreads some paint. Don’t forget about that great Christmas party thats going to happen on Dec. 17 with Mr. and Mrs. Santa.
